Had a blast at the convention in Valley forge the 11th thru the 13th. SCG always has great shows and the staff are amazing! follow the link for more info on SCG's website for the event.

Since Covid, for 2 years pretty much there have been no conventions going on at all. The first shows since 2019 were the TCG cons in Tampa, FL & Galveston, TX last year ( which were fantastic!) and this year my first show was TCG Tampa which was in late Jan of this year '22.

SCG Con was close to home in Philly and held at The Valley Forge Casino near King of Prussia. I arrived there Thursday expecting early set up but was informed that set up would be the 11th early @ 7am. My good friend Jeff Laubenstien was there so we decided to kill time hanging out.  For those who don't know Jeff, he's not only one of the artist for Magic the Gathering, but a legend in RPG and gaming history as he was the art director for FASA Corp for many years, Fasa as in Battletech, Shadowrun, etc. He's a few years older than me and I remember his art on the games covers and interiors from just before I began painting for White Wolf. Jeff had mailed his prints for the show to the hotel ( big mistake) and they hadn't shown up, so I convinced him to blow off steam and go with me to get food at a local place @MissionBarbeque. Mission has some of  THE BEST barbeque around.

Jeff could resist climbing the truck....LOL! they don't have this where he's from so it was a treat.

After eating we both had alter commissions to do so we went back to the hotel to finish them before the show opening Friday. I had two to do for Mr. Lamberto, one was a piece Ron Spears had done that I was asked to do bigger and the other was a request to recreate my version of a reference picture that had been sent to us. I had fun as I treat these as exercises.

The show opened Friday @noon, so I headed down around 7am to set up and paint alters on spare cards I had brought. Every show I'm at with RK Post no mater what time I show up...he's already set up at his booth. this time I thought, since his plane touched down at midnight, ide have him THIS show....nope. walked downstairs to the artist area and there is RK at his booth , all set up (face palm)lol. RK is one of the most talented and chill artist I've met....not the only one, but one of. Around 45 minutes later Jeff came down to set up and close to noon Zoltan Boros and Chris Moeller came down to set up and at noon the gates opened.

Every Con I get a Convention mania that set in, where I get wired and euphoric during the event. This one was no exception. I met allot of fans, and players, reconnected with old acquaintances I haven't seen in years and did some commissions.
